Living Water Bioponics

Scoop Maker

Weigh it once. Print the scoop. Put the scale away.

Every amendment gets its own level scoop, in its own color, living in its own bag. Except pH down: measure that every time.

Your scoops

The four below are examples from the course. Change them or add your own.

On the bed

Drag to turn it.

    How to size a scoop

    1. Pick your amount by volume (mL, teaspoons, cups) or by weight (grams, ounces).
    2. For a weight, fill a kitchen measuring cup level with that ingredient and weigh it. Enter those grams. Powders pack differently, so every ingredient needs its own weighing.
    3. Too big to print? Raise Scoops to split the amount into several level scoops of the same size.
    4. Pick a color for each ingredient, so you grab the right scoop without reading it.

    Check it with water

Fill your first printed scoop level with water and weigh it. One gram of water is one mL. If it holds a little less than it should, enter both numbers and every scoop you make after that is corrected for your printer.

    Printing

    1. Print upright, handle flat on the bed. No supports needed. A rib runs down the handle, about half as tall as the scoop, so you can pinch it and lift the scoop off a flat surface.
    2. PLA or PETG, 3 walls, 15 to 20% infill. Any nozzle 0.4 mm or larger.
    3. The amount is raised on the side of the rib. Print a short test first if your printer is new.
    4. Level every scoop: fill it heaped, then scrape flat across the rim.
